Week 1 (29 June 2020 - 3 July 2020)
"I still get the jitters every time I start a new job! I love it - makes you feel alive." - Camille Guaty
The exact feeling for my first week of internship. It was an opportunity for me to do my internship at Learning Edge as I had heard many great things about them. This was my first time working in a company so I prepared myself very well. On my first day, I was given a little briefing by my industrial supervisor, Heshwinder Oon, who is the person in charge of Training Solutions. He explained to me about the company's products and programs offered and also gave a tour of the office and the company's studio. I also got the chance to talk with other staff in the office and learned things that they do in the company. When I felt very nervous or anxious in a new place, I tend to just smile, acting like I am okay. Luckily, they were very friendly and supportive. They gave me a lot of advice on that day.
During my first week, I was assigned by Hesh to practice and make a call with the listed companies to introduce and promote the training programs offered by Learning Edge (both in-house and public programs) via calls. Hesh taught me the proper way and proper words when engaged with corporate clients and I jotted down everything that I learned. I also had a mock call practice with other staff to improve my communication skills through the calls. Although it was a nerve-wracking experience, I had fun and managed to do it well. After the practices, one of the Business Development team, Mira assigned me to make calls and update the feedbacks through a Google sheet prepared by the team.
Besides that, I also helped Mira and Aidil from the Business Development Team to moderate and take participant's attendance from one of the Learning Edge programs which are Online Protege Soft Skills Program.
Note: Protege program is a government-initiated program, an entrepreneurial training, and marketplace training program to develop and guide youths in collaboration with industry experts in the effort to create more competitive and ready job marketers as well as skilled job seekers to meet current industry needs.

Though she may have been nervous and trying to prove herself, i thought she did very well. She asked a lot of questions and volunteered a lot. Excited to see what she could bring to the organisation.
