"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." - Semisonic This week will be my last week of the internship's blogpost. Since the recent government announcement of CMCO, all of the staff and interns were told to work from home for safety measures. I was assigned to upload training modules into the Learning Edge Academy. The topic is given to me consists of 11 modules with pre-course and post-course assessment. The process took me almost 1 week to completely be done. Even though we had to work at home, I managed to help Mira in calling a few clients and helping her to key in into the Google sheet.  It was a wonderful experience with Learning Edge. I am beyond thankful for continuous guidance and patience from Hesh, Mr. Perthpal, and all staff of Learning Edge. Thank you for teaching me everything that I could gain from this working experience. Definitely, there's so much more to learn and grow in the future. Thank you too to my academic supervisor, Ma...

"Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection." - Mark Twain During this week, Hakimi and I continued to finish our training modules journey. We have 28 out of 147 modules more to go. Some of the modules were quite long and took half of the day to complete it. Other than that, we were doing pretty well with the help of other staff too. Getting good feedback from the previous content editing, Hesh gave me a few new modules that need to be revised and turned into interesting content that can please the reader's eyes.  Besides that, I also helped Hariz to transcript Mr. Perthpal's video into a copy of Pages. The video was 5-minute long and when I transcripted it, it became a two-pages long. There were definitely some challenges in completing the task such as the pronunciation, the terms used, and also the speed of the video. Nevertheless, I completed it with ease and I gained some great inputs as well as motivational quotes through it.

"Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong." - Unknown After the program ended, I helped Mira and Hesh with the participants' evaluation form and self-assessment book for the client's record. I also compiled all of the pictures taken during the program and gave it to the Business Development team for reference. There were some mistakes that I have made in the tasks given by Hesh on the evaluation form but I learned my lesson and never did it again. I also helped Faridah to edit some slides for her upcoming presentation. Since she was very strict, I made sure everything that being told was included. Hesh and Faridah taught me that every little thing is as important as others so always focus and be sharp when doing any tasks given.  During this week, Mr. Perthpal also asked fellow interns and me to reshoot the podcast session with us as the audience. We were told to dress up nicely and colorful, just like in the first shoot. Th...

"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein This week has been my memorable week of internship. It was a great experience to assist Hesh in a Protege Program. It reminds me of my facilitator days in college. The program was held at Sime Darby Plantation in Ara Damansara. Before the program, I asked Hesh what needs to be prepared in order for me to assist him well. Hesh showed me the tentative and activities that will be used as well as the instructions and materials needed. All of the activities conducted were connected with real-life situations therefore, I also paid attention and learned many things from it.  In addition, I would take the participant's attendance before every session starts. When the participants had questions or needed something, I helped and interact with them as much as I can do. The participants were in the same range of age as me so I had a great time sharing experiences and stories with them. I was also given the opportunity ...

Week 12 (14 September 2020 - 18 September 2020)

"The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you." - B.B. King During this week, Mira and I took the Sime Darby's participants picture for attendance taking through Google Meet. The participants were assigned to complete their exercises before the Protege Program begins on 21st until 25th September 2020. After taking the picture, I rechecked the attendance on the name list and emailed it to Mira for their record. I helped Mira with the attendance taking from 14th until 18th September 2020.  In addition, Hakimi and I continued to edit and recheck all of the training modules and updated it to Mr. Perthpal.

"It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." - Babe Ruth During this week, I helped Mira to prepare for her upcoming Protege Program with Sime Darby Plantation. Some of the tasks include creating a name list for both online and classroom attendance, guiding the participants on using Learning Edge Academy through FAQs, and helping Mira with program materials. I also learned to use a new way of sending marketing boxes to clients by using Easyparcel. Fahda taught me on how to key in the data and make payments through the app. With this new method, we were no longer having problems like parcel pick-up delayed and expensive delivery charges by certain couriers.

Happy Independence Day! This was one of the designs created by my fellow interns, Hakimi. Meanwhile, I and Fahda searched for some interesting captions to be posted on social media. During this week, Hakimi and I with the help of Fahda, continue to edit the training modules as much as we can so that it can be ready to upload into Learning Edge Academy. I also learned how to write reports from Fahda for future reference. Aidil also assigned me to help him with preparing training materials for his upcoming programs. I edited out the unneeded contents and arrange all of the photocopies in order. He also showed me his proposal for a new project and taught me briefly on how he did a proposal.  Some of the training modules  Helping out Aidil's upcoming program materials

"All our dreams can come through - if we have the courage to pursue them" - Walt Disney During this week, I helped Mira to call the updated list of companies and introduced the programs offered by Learning Edge. I also helped her to sort out approved companies and pending companies in one Google sheet so that it will be easier for the team to refer. After everything finished, I continued to edit the training modules.  On Friday (28th August), my company held training for all of the staff and interns called 'LEC Business Review Session 2020'. The objective of this training is to mediate Learning Edge Consultants in their Business Review session for the remaining of 2020. This training provides us with a clear short-term goal and KPI to move forward. It was a refreshing session where I learned the company's business performance, its business target, and key result areas of the company. We were able to discuss among the staff and opened for discussion on how to impr...

"You can choose courage, or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both." - Brené Brown This week marked my week 8 of the internship. Since I need to prepare the marketing boxes, I got the opportunity to learn some of the games created by the company. Hariz briefly showed me the title of the games, how it plays, and the objective of the games. It was fascinating how such games gave so many lessons and values in real-life situations. I also helped Mr. Rana to organize the program's materials back to its place.  During this week, I also experienced a new thing, which was involved in a podcast session with Mr. Perthpal. Mr. Perthpal told the interns and staff involved in the podcast to dress up properly as this session will be shared with corporate people. As a camera-shy, I was so anxious and worried if I do or say something wrong. Luckily, it was a fun and enjoyable session for all of us. We had a Q & A session as well as sharing experiences and knowledge with M...

Week 7 (10 August 2020 - 14 August 2020)

"It always seems impossible until it's done." - Nelson Mandela During this week, I continued to edit the training modules. We are halfway done and decided to increase our KPI in order to speed up the editing process. Besides modules, I was assigned by Fahda to help her with some translations, which required me to translate the proposal from English to Bahasa Malaysia.  Luckily, I learned Translation and Interpretation subjects during my college years therefore I managed to do it very well. There were certain words that rarely heard or used and we were constantly referred to the internet for reference. This task taught me to be more aware of the varieties of languages and increase my knowledge of difficult terms.  In addition, I also helped Fahda in conducting surveys for the client's company by assisting her with some content or information needed. Though there are fewer tasks than usual, I got to learn new things such as translating and interpreting writing materials...

"If something is wrong, fix it now. But train yourself not to worry, worry fixes nothing." - Ernest Hemingway During this week, the company welcomed a new employee, Sabiha. She is assigned to the Business Development Team under Ms. Faridah. Although I am an intern, Sabiha always asked me for any information and lend a hand if there are many works to do. Since she has worked in the government sector before, she also taught me a bit about the procedure of engaging clients in government companies.  I helped her with editing the slides and marketing products for her client's proposal.  Next, I also help the logistics, Mr. Rana in printing and cutting the modules and posters for upcoming programs. He asked me to prepare it according to the format given. The materials must be prepared neatly and according to the sequence. Although the task sounded easy, it takes a lot of time and focuses in order to finish it correctly and precisely as the first impression matters the most. Thi...

"Don't let yesterday take up too much of today." - Will Rogers During this week, I helped Uwais, one of the interns with the posting for the company's social media. We consulted with Fahda about the contents and the captions. I also continued preparing the marketing boxes for that week. Since the upcoming Online Protege Program held in early August, Mira and I engaged with the participants in the Whatsapp group about all the information needed and also reminded them to do their assignments in Learning Edge Academy. Ms. Faridah, the director of Business Development taught me to reply and answer the FAQs properly and gave some advice.  Besides that, I continued to edit the training modules and slides, assigned by Hakimi. We divided it according to the category and set up our KPI (key performance indicator) which we have to complete at least 3 for a day.  We managed to complete quite a number of modules before this upcoming Hari Raya Haji.

"Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment." - Oprah Winfrey Coming to my week 4 of the internship, I submitted the past tasks given by Hesh and continued helping Mira and Hakimi, one of the interns, in editing all of the training modules. "Success is best when it's shared." - Howard Schultz (Chairman & CEO, Starbucks) It's the third week of my internship and everything was great. I continued helping Mira to make calls and attendance taking for the Protege Program. During this week, I learned how to prepare and send the marketing products (Protege box and Team Works box). When the listed companies interested in Learning Edge's programs, we will send them an introductory box, consist of a name card, brochure, sample activities, and sample modules of the program offered. Fahda taught me how to choose and use courier services, and how to contact and deal with them. From these tasks, I learned how great teamwork and well-managed customer service create good results.  It was indeed a hectic week for the Business Development team so I helped Aidil and Mira in editing Vellsoft (training modules file) by transferring it from Microsoft Word to Pages. These training modules will be uploaded into the compa...

Week 2 (6 July 2020 - 10 July 2020)

"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes." - Oscar Wilde During my second week of internship, Hesh assigned me a few tasks including articles and editing modules. There were two articles that I needed to summarize and rewrite for Learning Edge's website.  I had learned that when creating an article, it does not have to be necessarily lengthy but keep the main points and example clear and straightforward. Fahda, one of the Business Analyst guided me thoroughly on writing an article as well as proofreading before I sent it.   In addition, I also helped Hesh in editing one of the modules that need to be revised. Hesh's concern was that the modules seem too plain and wordy. It was a point-form module with minimal colors and long sentences. At first, I found it to be quite hard to simplify while keeping the important points as well as making it interesting to look at. I asked for advice from the staff and searched through the internet for guidance. After a while...

"I still get the jitters every time I start a new job! I love it - makes you feel alive." - Camille Guaty The exact feeling for my first week of internship. It was an opportunity for me to do my internship at Learning Edge as I had heard many great things about them. This was my first time working in a company so I prepared myself very well. On my first day, I was given a little briefing by my industrial supervisor, Heshwinder Oon, who is the person in charge of Training Solutions. He explained to me about the company's products and programs offered and also gave a tour of the office and the company's studio. I also got the chance to talk with other staff in the office and learned things that they do in the company. When I felt very nervous or anxious in a new place, I tend to just smile, acting like I am okay. Luckily, they were very friendly and supportive. They gave me a lot of advice on that day. During my first week, I was assigned by Hesh to practice and make a ...
