Week 7 (10 August 2020 - 14 August 2020)
"It always seems impossible until it's done." - Nelson Mandela
During this week, I continued to edit the training modules. We are halfway done and decided to increase our KPI in order to speed up the editing process. Besides modules, I was assigned by Fahda to help her with some translations, which required me to translate the proposal from English to Bahasa Malaysia. Luckily, I learned Translation and Interpretation subjects during my college years therefore I managed to do it very well. There were certain words that rarely heard or used and we were constantly referred to the internet for reference. This task taught me to be more aware of the varieties of languages and increase my knowledge of difficult terms.
In addition, I also helped Fahda in conducting surveys for the client's company by assisting her with some content or information needed. Though there are fewer tasks than usual, I got to learn new things such as translating and interpreting writing materials and also how companies evaluate their employees by conducting surveys and getting feedback to improve their company's goal.
This goes to show any sort of skill people might think to be of no use can prove to be handy at the workplace. I'm glad she was able to pull out of her arsenal a set of previously learned skills to do her job well.
